even if plants were sentient what's the best ethical decision: 1.killing animals that cry out, visual recognition to recognize their loved ones, 3D mapping to locate specific items such as their dog bowls, even having sex and orgasms 2.eating an apple that is immobile, possessing no input devices such as eyes to process images, nor do plants experience an orgasm during the course of reproduction. It is because plants do not possess CNS (central nervous system), sensory neurons, brains, and sensory receptors to perceive sensory stimuli. I only became vegan recently, and all of these issues you have brought up are starting to sink in. Looking back, I don't understand how I was able to live with myself. I always was disgusted by most animal products and to stomach the thought of them, they had to be as separated as possible from their origins. But somehow, everything wouldn't come together in my head, despite having a wonderful vegan cousin, until my ex ordered a whale steak in Iceland. I found the the concept so abhorent that I finally starting taking the steps to veganism.

Eating a meat is a part of domination culture, we have. Domination someone who has more power above others who hasn't. See Riane Eisler and her notes about this. I think same, when I see people emphathize with animal suffering, even fish, I m hopeful about the future

I don't need to take supplements and I'm doing just fine eating plant-based food. As long as I eat the proper balanced meal I can be as healthy as anyone. Too many people are disconnecting their moral compass on knowing right from wrong and so they just go along with everyone else because to make a ripple in the water so to speak even if it's the truth is scary for most people. I find that standing up for the truth even if it means you lose people you thought were your friends is worth it because the truth will always Prevail in the end and those who did not believe or want to hear it in the beginning will soon come to terms with it.

I hate when people use that as an excuse to go back to meat. They should at least be honest if animals are going to die for their taste buds.

For me, I imagined it would be a gradual thing. My wife was already vegan (I was already vegetarian) and I imagined I could gradually transition to getting more and more vegan without any awkward declaration/commitment. But I don't prepare my own food, so I was then served a ramen with egg by my mother in law, and realised it wasn't going to change unless I made a bold and firm statement. Haven't looked back. Eyes wide open, as they say.

One thing I noticed in the UK over and over again is that when I go to a supermarket to the vegan products section, there is often some random disturbing non vegan sausages or bacon or some piece of meat someone put in the middle of the vegan products. It is clear that many people non vegan mix these random meat products with the vegan products on purpose to cause offence to vegans. I see this situation occurring very often. I don't understand why some people like to do this.

I agree completely with you, but I have to say that it is hard in some countries to be vegan, virtually there is a vegan food desert, or there are limited good vegan options.

Everyone I know with a B12 deficiency (which is not a statistically significant amount, just my personal experience) is an omnivore, because they incorrectly assumed they were getting adequate B12 from their eggs and meat. 🤷🏻‍♀️
